The letters the product sends, as a mail client shows them: the one template, the common letters, and the ones the product’s own flows need.
Template
The one layout every letter uses, its parts named in order, and what a mail client does to it. The sent letter carries the values of tokens.css written inline, since a letter cannot read the stylesheet.

One action only: a link styled as a button, never an image, at least 48 px tall. Letters whose link matters add the plain address to copy beneath it.

The facts of the event in label and value rows: order, item, amount. Only what the event needs, nothing confidential beyond it.

One sentence in the footer naming the event that sent the letter.

Preferences link
On optional letters only: notification preferences, and a link that turns this letter off. Security, order, payment and case letters are mandatory, so they carry a line saying so instead.

Company line
The company’s legal name and registered address, shown as placeholders until the name is settled.
600 px, one column
The letter is 600 px wide and stacks into one column. On a phone the padding narrows and the button fills the width.
The reader’s language
Every letter exists in English and Ukrainian, and goes in the language the user chose. There are no quiet hours.
Mandatory or optional
Security, order, payment and case letters are always sent. Any other can be switched off, from the preferences or from the link in the letter.
The preheader
The line an inbox shows after the subject. It sits hidden at the top of the letter, one sentence that adds to the subject instead of repeating it.
Animated pictures
Each picture is a GIF made from the illustrations by tools/exportEmailGifs.mjs. Its first frame is the complete still picture; it plays twice, then rests on it. At most 200 KB, hosted over https on the sending domain, with an alt text, so the letter reads complete with images off. Outlook 2007–2019 shows the first frame only; Apple Mail, iOS, Gmail and Outlook.com animate it.
